De Magiër is het archetypische principe dat te maken heeft met het bewustworden van het ik en de daarmee samenhangende communicatie met anderen. In de Bijbel is dit het verhaal van de zondeval en de verdrijving uit het paradijs. De Magiër is het symbool van het ontstaan van dualiteit en daarmee het besef van bijvoorbeeld donker en licht, goed en kwaad enzovoort.

The Magus is the symbol of duality: consciousness of opposites like good and evil and dark and light.
