"Original Groovejuice".
I have also a Discography page of Maxi Jazz !!
I have also more pictures of Maxi Jazz, please go to the Pictures pages of Faithless and Maxi Jazz.In 1983, Maxi Jazz found hip-hop. In 1984 he founded "The soul food café sound system" and DJ's around the place spreading the vibe. He re-invented the experience for the pirate radio station LWR as "The soul food café show" in 1987. Over 2 years, "The soul food café band" was picked up by TamTam records (dance wing of Savage Records), which was followed by a spell at Acid Jazz. Maxi Jazz started his own label in 1992 "Namu Records", to release the bands' material in the form of three critically received E.P.'s. He also made remixes for other British bands, for example: Ramshackle. Throughout this busy time Maxi Jazz had been touring the band around the world; with Jamiroquai in Amsterdam, Soul II Soul in Barcelona, Galliano in Switzerland and Jason Rebello in Brazil. On his own he covered France, Norway and the UK, and took out time to collaborate with Jah Wobble on the "Invaders of the heart" album followed by live dates with the Wobble collective. Meeting up with Rollo in the studio, lead to the forming of Faithless with Jamie and Sister Bliss. Enlighten conversations bore the fruit of intense and challenging lyrics dipped in the dark hue of Maxi Jazz's life and rediscovered in the music of Faithless. As a Nicheren Shoshu Buddhist, Maxi Jazz's strong beliefs and the band's own strong individual beliefs, lead to the name Faithless. Maxi jazz's another great love, besides his faith and music is his Ford Escort Mk 2 RS 2000. Her Buddha name is "The Orchid Room", her street name is "Biscuit". All listeners to Rodigan's early reggae show will recognize the reference. (This bio is partitial taken from the Reverence album).
