This speaker was in 1980 designed by my friend Eddie Verkroost. It was used in a normal living room. When he finished building this speaker, his wife was looking at the TV in a adjacent room. She complained that they had to buy a new set, because the colors were blurred... Later one side of the TV was screened with mu-metal. It consists of four 15" woofers, sixteen 5" mid range and sixteen 1" dome tweeters and a closed cabinet. Filters were 6dB/octave. This was possible because overload outside the pass band would not occure. One of his later designs was a two meter high line source of ribbon tweeters, several mid range speakers and two 18" JBL's. This loudspeaker was designed for a rocking sound. |
