•The MTBF
of an inverter is mainly determined by the MTBF of the power
semiconductors, the complex integrated circuits and the temperature
of these components
•
•Assuming
the number of power semiconductors components is proportional
to power, then the failure rate of inverters is proportional
to the power of the inverter. And therefore a small inverter
- with less power switching components - can be more reliable
than a large inverter
•
•The
number of complex integrated circuits of the OK4All is much lower
than any other inverter
•
•Since the
ratio between Volume and Area increases linear with the dimension,
a large inverter has relatively less cooling area available.
So, in principle, the temperature (and the temperature differences)
of an ac-module inverter can be lower
