•Consequences
of failure of an/the inverter:
•
•1. Consequences for the
customer:
–If one ac-module fails
only 10% of the power is lost
–If a central inverter
fails 100% of the power is lost.
•
•2. Consequences for the
supplier/installer:
–The central inverter
requires immediate repair, whilst reparation of an ac-module inverter gives
more leeway
–The frequency of
required services for the system with
ac-modules will be 10 times higher
•
•à In case of failures, ac-modules will result in lower
yield losses for the customer, but on average the
supplier will have 10 times more repairs!
•
•To avoid
this increase in repairs the ac-module inverter must have
•a much
better MTBF than a central inverter. Is that possible?
•à Probably YES!
