Furness Logistics is a division of the Dutch holding company Furness bv, which supplies a range of
high grade services in Europe focusing on logistic services, port activities and car dealerships.
Logistics Management and value added services for the European
market
Furness Logistics offers integrated logistics, order fulfilment and value added services to companies wishing to
export and distribute their products on the European market. The services we offer are:
transport overseas both per sea and air,- warehousing and distribution throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa,
- information management.
Transport overseas
Furness Logistics can coordinate the full container load and air shipments beginning at your doorstep to our warehouse facilities.You can also use a NVOCC groupage program with weekly services both from the USA and all major countries in the Far East to Rotterdam.
Warehousing
In total Furness Logistics owns two million sq/ft of bonded warehouses divided over a number of locations in the Netherlands (Dordrecht, 's-Heerenberg, Roosendaal and Zaandam) and Belgium (Ghent). The
productflow through the warehouse is barcode controlled from handling-in till the loading of the
truck. Further we use radio frequency as a result of which stock is being updated almost in real
time. Thanks to the system used we can guarantee a higher level of performance. The rule of
thumb is that if orders come in through EDI before 14.00 hours they will be ready for shipment
the same day.
Order acceptance
We accept orders by fax or EDI. Our preference is EDI.
Information management
Furness Logistics can provide a wide range of management
information reports:
- sales reports per SKU, country, region,
distributor and period,
- order size statistics,
- stock reports including stock turns on SKU level,
- warehouse costs,
- delivery costs.
Additional services
At our warehouse we offer the following additional services:
- order fulfilment,
- invoicing on the customer's letterhead in five languages and in any currency,
- COD deliveries,
- labeling,
- packing/repacking,
- order assembly,
- adding of manuals,
- customizing/configuration,
- machine shopwork,
- telemarketing.
Delivery
In house Furness Logistics has delivery services to all Western European countries. Further we arrange delivery
to Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
