Patching Silverlining Lite sq
I recently received an email from Japan detailing a way to create a working version of Silverlining Lite 2.1.1 from software freely available. La Cie, makers of Silverlining, distribute a special version of Silverlining Lite on their website that only supports SyQuest drives. La Cie also distributes updaters for their other Silverlining software.
The following describes a patch to the latest updater for Silverlining Lite (v2.1.1) that, when applied, enables Silverlining Lite v.2.1.1 Updater to update the special Syquest version of Silverlining Lite to the full Silverlining 2.1.1 version.

I found a solution for La Cie Silverlining Lite 2.1.1.
There is a download site of La Cie at http://www.lacie.com
but they only provide an updater for older versions.
La Cie claims that we cannot update "Silverlining Lite sq" by using
"Silverlining Lite v2.1.1 Updater". However here is a solution by updating from
the SyQuest version to Silverlining 2.1.1 by a simple process using ResEdit.
- download Silverlining Lite sq
- download Silverlining Lite v2.1.1 Updater
- open "Silverlining Lite v2.1.1 Updater" within ResEdit
- double click the resource oSrc
- double click ID 128 OLD FILE REQUIREMENT
- select all and copy
- open "Silverlining Lite sq" within ResEdit
- double click the resource sysz
- double click ID 0
- select all and clear
- paste the copied stuff to sysz
- save "Silverlining Lite sq" and quit ResEdit
- double-click "Silverlining Lite v2.1.1 Updater" and update "Silverlining Lite sq"
This solution creates a complete Silverlining Lite v2.1.1
